Objective:
The study was prepared in order to provide technical substantiation for priority funding of reconstruction of 18.7 km of the faulty water supply and 21.5 km of sewage networks in the City of Shymkent. The PIP also includes procurement of a jet pipe flushing vehicle and CCTV inspection equipment. The PIP estimated cost amounts to about KZT 3.6 billion to be cofinanced from the EBRD loan of KZT 2 billion and the Government of Kazakhstan grand of KZT 1.6 billion.
Main activities:
› Review of the existing situation with regards to water supply and sanitation services.
› Assessment of the current investment programme and the need for additional investment.
› Assessment of proposed investments and justification of their inclusion into the PIP in terms of production, social and environmental effects.
› Development of the Priority Investment Programme.
› Verification of the cost of the Priority Investment Programme.
› Preparation of Procurement and Implementation Plans.
› Preparation of Environmental and Social Due Diligence.
